Chapter One was founded by Ashley and Thomas, who combine a unique blend of expertise and experience with the enviable ambition to make homebuilding fit our times. And our planet.

As the lead characters of Chapter One, they’ve over 25 years combined experience as construction professionals, Chartered Surveyors with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), including previous senior leadership positions at one of London’s market-leading construction and property consultancies - Gardiner & Theobald LLP. In fact, they’ve already delivered a host of award-winning residential and mixed-use projects across the UK.

Drawing on this knowledge, they’re able to direct a wide range of in-house disciplines from front-end viability, site acquisition and planning assessment to the construction and delivery of residential-led projects. And they do it all with the goal of writing the ultimate story – one where intelligent, climate positive zero-carbon homes are just the beginning.
